Building Envelope Resealing Service

Preserving the integrity of your building’s exterior isn’t just about aestheticists, it’s also about protection. When seals begin to fail, water finds its way in. And once moisture enters, the results can be costly.

This is why in Metro Vancouver’s wet climate, resealing your building envelope is one of the smartest investments you can make. The building envelope is your first line of defense and what keeps the elements out and comforts in. But like any protective layer, it wears down over time.

If your buildings envelope needs resealing, do not fret. At Prime Coatings, we specialize in restoring watertight protection using proven methods and premium materials. Our team understands how different sealants perform, how to spot early signs of failure, and how to apply lasting solutions that save you from expensive repairs down the line.

Resealing with Precision and Purpose

When it comes to resealing building envelopes, our process goes far beyond simple recaulking.

We start by fully removing the old, failing sealant to expose a clean substrate. Without this step, new caulking can delaminate or fail to bond. Next, we identify the type of existing sealant. Silicone, polyurethane, and silyl-terminated polymers all have unique adhesion properties—using the wrong combination leads to early failure.

Once the surface is prepped, we install backer rods or bond breakers where needed to control sealant depth and joint movement. Then we prime, apply new sealant, and tool it for proper adhesion.

Prevent Moisture from Becoming a Bigger Problem

The earlier you catch sealant failure, the less you’ll pay later. That’s why we recommend scheduling a professional building envelope assessment every few years.

Whether you manage a high-rise in Burnaby or a low-rise in Kitsilano, our team can identify potential weak spots and restore your building envelope’s resistance to avoid interior leaks, energy loss, and structural degradation.
